Cathy Kura (Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist)

Cathy is new to the Austin area after spending more than 20 years in Arizona, where she built a rewarding career as a special education teacher and reading specialist. She is passionate about helping every student reach their full potential by creating individualized, engaging instruction that builds confidence, independence, and academic success.

Throughout her career, Cathy has worked with diverse learners in a variety of educational settings. She has extensive experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), providing targeted reading intervention, and collaborating closely with families, teachers, and support staff to support each student's unique needs.

Cathy believes every child can succeed when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities. She is dedicated to creating a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel valued and empowered to grow. Her goal is to foster a lifelong love of learning while helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
