Emily Smith

Emily Smith (Dyslexia Interventionist)

Emily earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington before beginning her career in education. She has over six years of experience working with elementary students in both general and special education settings. Throughout her career, she has taught second grade in Killeen ISD and first grade in Mesquite ISD before transitioning into reading and math intervention.

Emily received specialized training in dyslexia instruction using the evidence-based Reading by Design program. She is currently a Dyslexia Interventionist with Pflugerville ISD, where she provides individualized, structured literacy instruction to help students become confident, successful readers. Emily is also ESL certified and is currently working toward her Special Education certification.

She is passionate about building strong relationships with her students, providing instruction that meets their individual needs, and helping each child gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed!
