Kim graduated with her degree from UT Austin with a B.A in Psychology and Elementary Education. Two decades before she became a classroom teacher, she started working with and taking care of children as a preschool teacher for a church, a dance instructor, camp counselor during the summer months and nanny for several different families. Eventually, she had her own children and became a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child was in Second Grade.
Shortly thereafter she began her official teaching career as a Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second grade teacher over the course of 21 years. Three of which were spent in Seminole County Public Schools at Lake Orienta Elementary School in Florida as a Kindergarten teacher. The remainder of her career she spent in Texas teaching for Conroe Independent School District, Kerrville ISD, and Galveston ISD.
Currently she is a retired teacher as of May 2024. She is excited to use her talents and skills as a passionate, engaging reading tutor for Austin Reading Solutions. She loves children! She considers them to be the funniest, most authentic people on earth. Her favorite education quote is - My teacher thought I was smart, so I was.
